Job Summary:

The Single Stop Student Resource Specialist is the first point of contact for PPSC students who need support with basic
needs insecurities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage student case load in accordance with grant parameters, provide student access to campus and community resources, maintain positive relationships with community agencies and partners, meet with students to identify their needs and to connect them with the appropriate campus and community resources, follow-up with students, support, and aid as needed. Promote Single Stop to the campus community (e.g., workshops, class presentations, meetings, etc.). Perform data collection, tracking, reporting, retention data on students who utilize Single Stop.
• Serve as a resource and connector for students who need personal assistance as referred by faculty, student affairs, and others.
• Build awareness of the Single Stop platform and importantly, provide hands-on support for students to access
the programs for which they qualify.
• Assist with educational program development/professional development for faculty and staff around Single
Stop, public benefits, food assistance programs, and how participation in these programs can make our students
more successful in the classroom.
• Support or administer campus and community-based food programs for qualified students.
• Provide robust and user-friendly information to students- regarding all resources.
• Serve on the college’s behavioral intervention team (BIT) to provide follow-up to students where appropriate.
• Develop and expand relationships within the community, building strong relationships with community
resources for help with the homelessness, emergency rent assistance, emergency utility assistance, food
assistance, physical and mental health care professionals, childcare, and any community organizations capable
of assisting our students with life’s challenges.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or closely related field.
• Two years of professional experience in the social services filed. Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Services.
• Demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment; must demonstrate cultural responsivity.
Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge. Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, Human Services, Psychology, or closely related field.
• Two years of professional experience working in a higher education setting with traditional and non-traditional college students.
• Demonstrated experience in public speaking, teaching, facilitating workshops, or small group facilitation.
• Demonstrated experience in program development, analysis, data collection, and assessment.
• Knowledge of campus and community referral resources.

Depending on your employment category and full or part-time status, Pikes Peak State College offers 15 hours a month of annual leave and 10 hours a month of sick leave accrual. There are paid holidays and alternate paid holidays which allow the college to be closed Christmas Day through New Year's Day. Eligibility is defined by your employment FTE status.
