Applicant Resources

The Application Process

The application process and eligibility requirements may vary by job but will generally follow the steps below. You will create an applicant account at CCCS where you can track your application progress when you apply across the system.

1

Create a profile.

2

Search & apply for jobs.

Be sure to clearly explain in your application materials how you meet the requirements for the job and include in your application all of the requested information or documentation. Incomplete applications may not be considered.

3

Take an assessment.

Not all jobs include an assessment. Assessments may include an initial phone interview or a test.

4

Interview.

Depending on the job or candidate pool, a search may include multiple interviews.

5

Background screening.

Background screening is specific to the job for which you are being considered and primarily includes a review of criminal history. Some positions require a driving record check or a fingerprint background check.

Frequently Asked Questions

CCCS offers a wide range of employment opportunities. Across the system we hire faculty and instructors, administrative roles, academic and student services staff, business and IT professionals, and various support staff.

While CCCS operates as a system, each college and the system office posts and manages its own jobs. You can create one overall profile that can be reused for multiple applications, but you will need to apply directly to specific job postings of interest. Be sure each application includes all the requested information of the specific job posting for which you are applying.

For the majority of jobs across CCCS you do not have to be a Colorado resident to apply. Upon hire, even when remote work is authorized, work must be conducted primarily within Colorado.

For State Classified jobs, unless the position is located within 30 miles of the Colorado border, you must be a Colorado resident to apply.

CCCS is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and reasonable accommodations to qualified applicants and employees. If you need an accommodation during the application or selection process due to a disability, please contact the Human Resources department at the specific location where you are applying as soon as possible.

You can typically find Human Resource contact information on the specific system office or college job board or website.

Yes, all final candidates must successfully complete a background check before employment. This typically includes criminal history and may include education verification and a review of driving records depending on the position. Positions that are granted access to Federal Tax Information as part of their job duties will be required to submit to a fingerprint background check.

The appointment of foreign nationals is a complex matter involving the Departments of State, Labor, and Homeland Security. CCCS’s practices are consistent with federal statutes and regulations governing the employment of foreign nationals in the United States, the issuance of certificates of eligibility, and the filing of petitions seeking authorization for both temporary employment (non-immigrants) and permanent employment (immigrants). The decision to pursue employment-based resident status for an employee is dependent on the interests of the System and will only be filed for individuals holding full-time appointments in regular positions, with a proven history of being hard-to-fill or which require special skills.
