The Front Desk Assistant is a multi-functional support role in the Social & Behavioral Sciences Pathway department. We serve faculty and students in Social Sciences, Psychology, Human Services, Political Science, Economics, History, Criminal Justice, Paralegal, and more.

As part of a small Front Desk team, you will strengthen your experience with various administrative job duties such as greet students, staff, and visitors in person and by phone, direct visitors to the proper staff member office, maintain a welcoming waiting area, coordinate the break room, receive and deliver incoming mail, help maintain office records, data entry, complete small projects, and provide support to faculty, the Dean, and general support to advisors who share the office suite with us. This is a highly engaged and top performing team, which a few staff always keep candy and snacks in a bowl to share at all time.

 

Job Summary:

Front Desk Assistants provide the first impression for all types of visitors to the Social & Behavioral Sciences and Public Safety/Legal Services Pathway office suite. The primary role is to provide a welcoming office environment while also completing general office support for daily office needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Professionally greet office visitors, conduct check-in, and maintain visitor log
• Collaborate with your team on Front Desk and office organization
• Support and maintain office procedures
• Assist with various projects throughout the department including basic data entry projects using MS Word or MS Excel, Outlook and/or Microsoft Office software
• Effectively use a shared office email account and folders
• Post classroom changes/cancellation notices
• Run errands on campus as needed
• Stock supplies and utilize printer/copier/scanner
• General housekeeping (maintain break room, stock and sanitize instructor workspaces, water plants, etc.)
• Provide general college information as necessary
• Learn or become familiar with the physical Auraria campus layout, especially CCD’s
• Become knowledgeable about key CCD contacts and their office locations
• Attend team meetings, participate in ongoing training, assist with assessment and perform additional duties as needed

Temporary Hourly: Engineering Lab Assistant - Science, Engineering, and Math Division

The Science, Engineering, and Math Division serves a wide-ranging student population, from students currently in high school to adult learners returning to education after many years. Our division strives to assist all students and visitors who call or come into our office. The Engineering Lab Assistant helps PPSC engineering instructors prepare for, conduct, and clean up after engineering design labs. A workload of up to 20 hours per week is anticipated. This work will take place at both the Centennial and Rampart campuses. Because this work directly supports scheduled engineering labs, the student must be on-campus, in the lab classroom prior to, during and immediately following the lab. Other support activities will be necessary and can be performed at times convenient to the Lab Assistant and the faculty.  Ability to work evenings and travel to multiple campuses to support student and department needs. This position is temporary part-time, not to exceed 28 hours per week.
