Job Summary:
The Department of Library Services at Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) seeks a dedicated and student-centered Library Instruction Assistant to support library instruction, research services, and general operations at both the Lakewood and Arvada campuses. Reporting to the Instruction Librarian, this position plays an integral role in advancing information literacy and fostering a welcoming, inclusive learning environment. Key responsibilities include teaching library instruction sessions across various disciplines, providing responsive research assistance to students, faculty, and staff across multiple modalities (in-person, email, phone, Zoom, and IM), and collaborating on the development of instructional materials and assessment tools. The Library Instruction Assistant also helps coordinate daily tasks for student employees and contributes to special projects, outreach, and event support as needed.

This is a temporary, part-time, non-exempt position, working 18-24 hours per week for a maximum of 9 months, depending on institutional need and budget availability. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
• Must be currently enrolled as a graduate student or have completed a master’s degree in a library science program.
• Experience or interest in information literacy.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Coursework or professional experience with web-based applications (such as social media, cloud-based media storage, videoconferencing programs, and learning management systems).
• Coursework or professional experience in reference services.
Coursework or professional experience in library instruction, including knowledge of library instruction assessment methods.
• Experience with video editing and production.
• Experience generating and editing social media content in a professional capacity.
• Interest in working in an academic or health sciences library.
