Job Summary:

The Specialist is a valued Human Resource Services team member. The Specialist will have knowledge and understanding of general human resources functions to assist with department operations. This position will also serve as a resource providing department information, guidance, and interpreting human resources policies and procedures. This position is located at the front desk area and is required on campus, in person.
REPORTS TO: HR Business Professional, Recruitment
Minimum Qualifications:
• Completed Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution OR completed Associate’s degree with two years of professional level experience performing similar duties to those described for this position.
Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge. Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional level experience in human resource-related functions (i.e. hiring, benefits, recruitment, etc.).
• Experience with records management.
• Experience providing recruitment, administrative, and operational support.
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent Spanish
Duties & Responsibilities:
Department Support
Liaison between human resource services and employees of the college. Coordinates department operations to support efficiency to client services. Interpret departmental policies and procedures providing guidance for employees. Maintain general understanding and knowledge of department objectives to serve as a first point of contact for walk-ins, phone calls and messages. Manage e-cards, website content, SharePoint files, inventory, supply orders, p-card and invoice processing. Respond to verifications, loan forgiveness applications, and other personnel requests.
Tuition Programs
Administer the employee tuition assistance and tuition reimbursement programs. Obtain appropriate documentation in accordance with System President procedures. Maintain and distribute tuition deadlines, forms, and tracking. Remain current on program requirements and eligibility criteria. Review submissions, determine eligibility, and process completed applications.
Recruitment Assistance & Data Management
Input, track and maintain data integrity of recruitment and personnel forms. Assist recruitment team with candidate support, new hire tours and event support. Maintain primary responsibility for updating accuracy and completion of electronic personnel files. Verify data and ensure accurate completion of employee paperwork. Coordinate employee changes and hires in the college catalog. Review and enter W-4’s, name changes, direct deposit forms for accuracy and compliance with operational guidelines.
