Job Summary:
RRCC seeks an experienced and collaborative Director of Education Programs to provide leadership for the College’s Education, Early Childhood Education, educator preparation, and teacher licensure pathways. This 12-month administrative staff position supports high-quality academic programs that prepare future educators and strengthen educator workforce pipelines across Colorado.
The Director leads program planning, course scheduling, faculty coordination and supervision, curriculum and program review, budgeting, advisory board activities, clinical partnerships, student progression, and continuous improvement. This role also serves as RRCC’s primary contact for educator preparation, licensure, state approval, authorization, reauthorization, and reporting with the Colorado Department of Education, Colorado Department of Higher Education, school district partners, and community stakeholders.
A successful candidate possesses strong academic leadership, regulatory compliance, partnership development, communication, data analysis, and program management skills. They are at ease building relationships across the College and with external partners, supporting students through licensure and clinical placement requirements, using data to strengthen enrollment, retention, completion, licensure, and employment outcomes, and managing detailed state and institutional requirements. This position may work from any RRCC campus or site, and occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support program, partner, student, or College needs.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of educator preparation programs, teacher licensure requirements, and higher education administration.
• Knowledge of curriculum development, accreditation, assessment, and continuous improvement processes.
• Knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, enrollment management, and academic program operations.
• Ability to interpret and apply state regulations, accreditation standards, and institutional policies.
• Ability to supervise faculty and staff and lead cross-functional teams.
• Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated commitment to student success, equity, workforce development, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, Early Childhood Education, Teacher Education, Higher Education, or a closely related field.
• Current or previous educator licensure.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in educator preparation, teacher licensure, P–12 education, higher education, academic program leadership, or a related field.
• Experience with program administration, compliance, accreditation, assessment, budgeting, or state reporting.
• Experience collaborating with school districts, faculty, staff, and community partners.
Physical & Cognitive Demands
The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.• Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
• This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
• The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Doctorate in Education, Educational Leadership, Higher Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
• Experience leading or coordinating a state-approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP).
• Experience with Colorado educator licensure rules, authorization, reauthorization, and accreditation processes.
• Experience supervising faculty and staff.
• Experience in managing budgets and advisory boards.
• Experience with Title II, SURDS, accreditation, or state reporting systems.
• Experience in higher education teaching and academic administration.
• Demonstrated success developing partnerships with school districts and workforce stakeholders.

Starting Salary
Starting salary range for this position is $92,418 to $101,660 annually, commensurate with education and experience. This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.
