Job Summary:

The Culinary Arts Lab Coordinator shall work under the direction of the Director of Culinary Arts and Hospitality and will provide oversight of the culinary lab facilities, product purchasing, requisitions, receiving, working with vendors, coordination with faculty and instructors, overseeing equipment maintenance, safety, and sanitation standards, inventory control, and supervising student employees.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a similar related field. OR Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a similar related field with two years of professional level experience performing similar duties to those described for this position
• Two years of food service kitchen-related experience
• Two years of supervisory experience
• Experience or knowledge in interdepartmental functions, purchasing, bids, and receiving
Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge. Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from a regional accreditation agency, such as the Higher Learning Commission.
• Three or more years of food service kitchen-related experience
• Three or more years of supervisory experience
• Purchasing, receiving, inventory, and budget experience
• Administrative experience
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist departments with purchasing, receiving, distribution, and requisition needs
• Inventory and equipment management, maintain accurate reports of product levels, including food and non-food items in dry storage, refrigerated fresh foods, and frozen foods.
• Conducts periodic inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Organize and maintain a list of products needed for current and upcoming operations.
• Maintain chemical safety data sheets, first aid kits, and all other items necessary for student safety and security during labs.
• Oversee student employees
• Assists with accreditation and assessment reports
• Must establish clear and logical goals and objectives
• Responsible for the storeroom and lab areas
• Responsible for internal planning, training, and administration
• Reporting to the department advisory board membership
• Assist with student advising when needed
