Job Summary:
The Student Leadership and Belonging (SLB) Office is dedicated to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and vibrant campus community by supporting student-led organizations, leadership development, and student engagement opportunities.
Student Engagement Assistants play a vital role in this mission by assisting with event planning and implementation, providing front desk support, coordinating logistics, promoting campus programs, and helping ensure all events are professional, accessible, and welcoming to every student.
Through this role, students gain valuable experience in event management, customer service, leadership, and campus involvement while making a meaningful impact on the CCD community.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Event implementation (planning, setup, takedown, day-of support) - 30%
Event planning and coordination - 20%
Front desk support (answering phones greeting students, providing a welcoming environment, assisting students) - 30%
Event promotion (create flyers, social media content, hang flyers, outreach) - 20%
Competencies/KSAs:
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Must be able to walk long distances across campus and lift up to 25 pounds
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Interest in building community and supporting student engagement
Public speaking and event planning experience preferred
Ability to stay organized, problem-solve, and adapt to changing needs
Graphic Design Experience/Social Media Managing
Minimum Qualifications: CCD Enrollment and work-study award
