Job Summary:

The Adjunct Instructor for Business reports to the Business Program Chair, and works collaboratively with other discipline faculty. The primary purpose of the Adjunct Instructor for Business is to develop and instruct one (1) or more introductory and intermediate Business courses. The Adjunct Instructor for Business will design the specific course curriculum, grading system, and assignments for the course or courses.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Adjunct Instructor for Business must command strong teaching skills, creating and modeling a quality-learning environment to support a diverse student population including students with disabilities or special learning needs and effectively structure classes and curriculum to support program and course outcomes. The Adjunct Instructor for Business incorporates, as pedagogically appropriate, current technology in classroom and distance learning. They also utilize a variety of technology-based programs to access and input information related to student records and college/school/department processes (e.g., Banner, D2L, grade books, etc.).

The Adjunct Instructor for Business demonstrates leadership within the department, center, and college respectively. This position will conform to the Departmental requirements for attendance and participation in departmental meetings and required trainings.

• Highly proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage small groups and facilitate teaching and learning.
• Current knowledge of Microsoft Office and cloud computing.
• Well organized with problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Proven ability to work in a team with diverse groups of people in a dynamic environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Faculty and instructors who teach in the business administration program must have a master’s in business, management, marketing, nonprofit management, project management, organizational leadership, economics, a Juris Doctorate, or a master’s in another discipline with at least 18 graduate credits hours in one or more related field(s)

The required occupational hours may be within the past 20 years provided that the individual has stayed active and current in the industry through professional work experience and/or development and training in business. There are specific licenses and certifications that can also be proven as a demonstration of ongoing currency in the profession.

They must also meet the criteria laid out in: CTE Credentialing Guidelines (INST – 10). (Acceptable examples of closely related discipline topics include but are not limited to planning, regulation, and administrative services).

Experience:
Two (2) years of full-time experience, within the last ten (10) years, in a business, management, or marketing position.

Or

Three (3) years full-time experience teaching/training equivalent in business, management, or marketing discipline.

Licensure/Certification:
