Job Summary:

The Workforce Development department at RRCC is seeking an Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Instructor to Provide high-quality instruction for Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) workforce training programs through classroom, laboratory, and hands-on learning experiences. The instructor is responsible for preparing students with the knowledge and technical skills necessary for careers involving electric vehicle charging infrastructure, installation, maintenance, safety, and industry best practices. This position supports RRCC's workforce development mission by preparing students for careers in the rapidly growing clean energy and transportation industries.

This position reports to Director of Workforce Services. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. May require hours outside of regular office hours.

Work is performed in classroom, laboratory, and shop environments. Position requires standing, walking, demonstrating equipment operation, and active participation in hands-on training activities. May require evening and weekend instruction based on program needs. May require travel between RRCC campuses and workforce training locations.

This position may work up to 28 hours per week, depending on budget and need.

Competencies/KSAs:

• Knowledge of electric vehicle charging systems, electrical fundamentals, installation practices, and industry safety standards.
• Ability to explain technical concepts using classroom instruction, demonstrations, and hands-on learning activities.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and applicable electrical codes and regulations.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to manage classroom and laboratory environments while promoting student engagement and success.
• Ability to integrate technology and hands-on instructional methods into teaching.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of two (2) years of recent full-time experience in the electrical, EVSE, electric vehicle charging, renewable energy, or related electrical construction industry.
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards, OSHA regulations, and safe work practices.
• Ability to independently deliver classroom, laboratory, and hands-on instruction.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to students with varying levels of experience.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated commitment to student success, workforce development, and learner-centered instruction.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, employers, and community partners

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience installing, commissioning, maintaining, or troubleshooting Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) and related electrical systems.
• Possession of a current Journeyman Electrician license, Master Electrician license, or equivalent electrical credential, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent industry experience as determined by the College.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), particularly requirements related to EV charging infrastructure.
• Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program (EVITP) certification.
• Associate degree or higher in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Renewable Energy, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience delivering industry-recognized credential preparation courses.
• Experience using instructional technology or learning management systems.

• The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.
• Occasionally moves, positions, and transports instructional tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently stands and moves throughout classroom and laboratory environments.
• Demonstrates electrical equipment, EV charging equipment, tools, and safety procedures/environments.
• The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Cognitive demands include instructing, analyzing, troubleshooting, evaluating, communicating, coordinating, problem-solving, and maintaining situational awareness in laboratory

Advertised Hourly Pay

The pay for this position is $80.87 per hour, commensurate with education and experience. This is a part-time, FLSA exempt position and may work up to 28 hours per week, depending on budget and need.
