Job Summary:

Arapahoe Community College is seeking a collaborative and student-centered leader to serve as the Associate Director of Transfer Services & Pathways Advising. This position provides strategic leadership for transfer student enrollment, advising, and success initiatives, supporting students from admission through successful transfer to four-year institutions. The Associate Director leads a team of academic advisors, develops and strengthens transfer partnerships, and uses data-informed practices to enhance student access, persistence, completion, and seamless transfer outcomes.

In this role, you will work closely with internal and external partners to expand transfer opportunities, improve advising services, develop student success programming, and support institutional goals through assessment and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, relationship builder, and problem solver with a passion for helping students achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, coach, and develop a team of Academic Advisors.
  • Strengthen transfer pathways through partnerships with universities, school districts, and community organizations.
  • Oversee transfer advising initiatives, student support programming, and transfer-related events.
  • Develop communication campaigns and resources to support student transfer planning.
  • Analyze student success data to guide strategic planning and program improvement.
  • Serve as a resource for complex student concerns and advising-related issues.
  • Promote student success through innovative, equity-minded advising practices and services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Student Development, Education, or related field OR an equivalent amount of education and relevant experience will substitute for the education requirement but will not count towards the experience requirement below.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a relevant administrative/student affairs position, such as advising, in higher education.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Technical & computer skills to support assessment and continuous improvement of advising and retention initiatives such as experience with EAB Navigate360, or other student case management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years supervisory experience.
  • Community college experience.
  • Direct managing experience in career development or academic advising center in a higher education setting.
  • Knowledge and experience with using Guided Pathways philosophy in an advising model.
  • Demonstrated track record managing an advising office and developing a transfer program that will coordinate efforts of multiple student service offices.
  • Demonstrated success in improving transfer outcomes and service to underserved populations.
