Salary Range: The annual salary for this position is $72,000 and may be up to 5% higher depending on relevant experience, education, and certifications when compared to others doing substantially similar work.

Job Summary:

Pueblo Community College Southwest provides educational programs and services to the citizens of Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma, and San Juan counties in the southwest corner of Colorado. The Academic Support function includes testing, tutoring, and teaching and learning support for students.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential Functions
• Assists with the hiring, orientation, on-boarding, and administration of part- time instructors across divisions for PCC Southwest.
• Fosters effective and efficient communication regarding programming between Pueblo Community College Southwest and other PCC campus locations, as well as with local high schools in the Southwest region.
• Observes classes as directed by the Regional Academic Director, and documents these observations
• Collaborates with PCC department chairs and deans to implement academic standards
• Works closely with local high schools to ensure educational needs are met and relationships are maintained, with an emphasis in course alignment and academic rigor
• Assists with class observations, on PCC Southwest campus and onsite at high schools
• Works with the Academic Services team to identify and pursue grant and funding opportunities that support the growth and sustainability of programs
• Assists the Academic Director in exploring programming opportunities in the Southwest
• Attends community events and engages in outreach opportunities for PCC Southwest.
• Assists instructors and faculty in all aspects of classroom functions at the PCC Durango site, including technical support, the building of D2L courses, and pedagogical training.

•Interacts professionally and respectfully with students, colleagues, and others.
•Assesses individual and department work processes and recommends improvements.
•Complies with State Fiscal Rules, State Board policies, System and College protocols, and departmental procedures.
•Obtains and maintains proficiency with required systems and equipment.
•Maintains confidentiality of student and employee information as required.
•Completes all required compliance training within the established timeline.
•Serves on committees and other groups as assigned.

Competencies/KSAs:

• Knowledge of laws, accreditation standards, and best practices pertaining to student advising, tutoring, and/or testing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; working knowledge of Ellucian Banner.
• Able to lift 15 pounds.
• Able to read and communicate in English.
• Mobility around campus.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• At least 3 years of experience in an academic setting, with a preferred emphasis on teaching.
• At least 2 years of experience in higher education.

•Various locations within the college’s service area

Schedule
•State business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
•Infrequent weekend and/or evening hours required

The Coordinator of Concurrent Enrollment strengthens and broadens Concurrent Enrollment opportunities for students in partnering school districts by creating and maintaining close working relationships with school administrators, counselors, teachers, and PCC faculty and staff. The Coordinator develops, manages, and negotiates program and program requirements directly related to Concurrent Enrollment.

Part-time Instructor: Economics

Part-time instructor positions (as defined by State Board Policy, BP 3-10) exist to create and maintain a teaching and learning environment that empowers students to be successful. Part-time instructors work under the direction of their respective Department Chair, Associate Dean, or Division Dean.  Pikes Peak State College maintains a pool of qualified part-time instructors. Part-time instructors will be selected to support departmental requirements. Part-time instructors may be employed to teach courses, conduct presentations or other service activities when current instructors and faculty are not available. Must be a State of Colorado resident or able to relocate to Colorado prior to first date of employment.  All work must be performed in the State of Colorado.
