Job Summary:

CCD seeks an adjunct instructor of Geology within the STEM Pathway.

Duties & Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the instruction of General Geology classes. This includes preparation for classes and labs, and the creation and management of course content. These classes may include face-to-face, hybrid, or online modalities.

Days and times of classes are dependent on schedule, budget, and enrollment.

  • Are comfortable both giving and receiving feedback on their teaching
  • Are interested in contributing to curriculum development
  • Demonstrate student-focused instructional practices
  • Have experience in both geologic fieldwork and laboratory settings

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
The successful Geology adjunct instructor must have a Master's degree in Geological Science from an accredited institution, or related Master's degree and at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline to be taught.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience:
Previous experience teaching in a community college setting is preferred
