Job Summary:

The purpose of the Accommodative Testing Coordinator is to facilitate approved testing accommodations to students with disabilities who are qualified for services as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Reports To: Director Of Accessibility Services

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completed Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with one year of professional level experience working with persons with disabilities OR completed Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with two years of professional level experience working with persons with disabilities.
• One or more years of experience using standard desktop computer application software and operating systems (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).


Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge. Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completed master's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Two or more years of documented experience working with students in higher education.
• Experience administering accommodative tests for students with disabilities.
• Demonstrated experience applying disability and privacy laws for post-secondary or secondary students.
• Demonstrated knowledge of assistive technology.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and implement approved testing accommodations for students with disabilities, including managing schedules and securing appropriate alternative facilities.
• Administer, proctor, read, and/or scribe course and placement exams utilizing assistive technology, specialized equipment, and alternate formatting as required.
• Ensure the absolute security, confidentiality, and accuracy of all examinations, student records, scoring procedures, and sensitive data collection.
• Manage, supervise, and assist with the hiring, training, and scheduling of front desk staff, student employees, and administrative personnel.
• Collect and analyze quantitative departmental data to generate reports monitoring program development, student needs, retention, and academic success.
• Serve as the primary point of contact to resolve complex concerns regarding the administration of accommodative testing and unique student accommodation needs.
• Consult regularly with the Director and Assistant Director regarding operational procedures, program reviews, and strict ADA/Section 504 accessibility compliance.
• Foster open, proactive communication among students, faculty, and staff to facilitate the smooth delivery and implementation of approved accommodations.
• Provide cross-training, staff coverage, and cross-functional support for general office duties, including answering phones and scheduling appointments.
• Partner with campus and community entities to identify testing accessibility issues, developing procedural guidelines, in-service trainings, and strategic resource referrals.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in a broad range of subjects.
• Familiarity with current accessibility and confidentiality regulations.
• Current knowledge of the advancement of assistive technology.
• Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide training and information to students/faculty/staff/community partners. • Work effectively as a member of a team.
• Ability to travel between campuses as needed and work variable schedules based on departmental needs.
