Job Summary:
The Red Rocks Community College’s School Age Child Care (SACC) program is seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and dependable individuals to join our part-time team supporting children ages 5–12 in a safe, fun, and structured environment. This position is ideal for those passionate about early childhood education, youth development, or recreational programming.
Group Leaders are responsible for actively supervising and engaging children in a variety of enrichment activities such as arts, crafts, science projects, outdoor games, and social skill-building. Candidates will implement interest-based activities, ensure a safe and inclusive environment, and build positive relationships with children, families, and school staff. Additional responsibilities include preparing nutritious snacks, supporting homework needs, maintaining clean and welcoming spaces, and contributing to program planning. Group Leaders also support site leadership and may assume lead responsibilities when the Site Manager is absent.
Team members may work up to 28 hours per week, (depending on budget and need) primarily Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with occasional morning shifts (6:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.) and additional hours on early release or full days. Programs operate at Jefferson County Public School sites located in Lakewood, Littleton, Arvada, Westminster, and Golden.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old, able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire, and capable of consistent, reliable attendance. Preference is given to candidates with prior experience working with school-age children and those with relevant certifications or coursework. The pay range is $18.81–$19.31 per hour, based on qualifications and experience. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a CBI background check.

Basic knowledge of physical and behavioral health topics, or the ability to learn and apply that knowledge in a childcare setting.

Physical & Cognitive Demands
The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.
Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.

The compensation for this position is $18.81 - $19.31 hourly, commensurate with education, certification and experience. This is a part-time, FLSA exempt position and may work up to 28 hours per week, depending on budget and need. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.
