Salary Range: The annual salary for this position is $49.292 and may be up to 5% higher depending on relevant experience, education, and certifications when compared to others doing substantially similar work.

Job Summary:

The Human Resource Generalist provides recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and overall administration of employees in the Southwest Region. The Generalist also conducts Civil Rights and Title IX intake meetings and facilitates college-wide professional development initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential Functions
•Oversees recruiting, hiring, and orienting new employees in the Southwest Region in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition Manager and other HR staff.
•Administrates the collection and verification of required new hire documents.
•Enters and maintains employee data in HRIS (Ellucian Banner).
•Assists hiring managers with orientating and onboarding new employees.
•Serves as point of contact for employee benefit queries and enrollment.
•Conducts Civil Rights and Title IX intake meetings when assigned by the Title IX Coordinator.
•Prepares documentation pertaining to intake meetings.
•Assists employees with leaves administration.
•Coordinates college professional development opportunities as directed by the Vice President, Human Resources, and in collaboration with CCCS Professional Development, Shared Governance bodies, the Center for Teaching Excellence and Academic Leadership (CTEAL), and other college leaders or entities.
•Provides guidance to the Vice President, Southwest Region and other leaders in the interpretation and application of Federal and State regulations, Board policies, System procedures, PCC protocols, and other governing requirements.

•Communicates effectively with students, colleagues, and others.
•Interacts professionally and respectfully with students, colleagues, and others.
•Assesses individual and department work processes and recommends improvements.
•Complies with State Fiscal Rules, State Board policies, System and College protocols, and departmental procedures.
•Obtains and maintains proficiency with required systems and equipment.
•Maintains confidentiality of student and employee information as required.
•Completes all required compliance training within the established timeline.
•Serves on committees and other groups as assigned.

Competencies/KSAs:

•Knowledge of best practices in Human Resource management.
•Knowledge of Federal and Colorado employment regulations.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Ellucian Banner.
•Able to lift 15 pounds.
•Able to read and communicate in English.
•Mobility around campus.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or an Associate’s degree with at least two years of related professional experience.
•At least three years of experience in any Human Resource function.
•Experience in higher education and/or government employment.

•Fremont or Mancos, CO locations
•Conferences within or outside of Colorado
•Various locations within the college’s service area

Schedule
•State business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
•Infrequent weekend and/or evening hours required

Selection Process:

Review of applications begins immediately and closes at 5pm (Mountain) on October 30, 2026. Anticipated start date is December 1.

PERA retirees are not eligible to fill this position except on an interim basis and only in accordance with PERA work provisions.
