Title: First year Experience Coordinator/Recruiter Rangely

Position Type: Professional Tech Full time

College: Colorado Northwestern Community College

Division: Student Affairs

Department: CNCC Admissions / Enrollment

Campus: CNCC Rangely Campus

Location: Rangely

Salary Range: 48,000-55,000

At Colorado Northwestern Community College's Rangely campus, student success isn't a metric on a dashboard — it's a conversation in the hallway, a follow-up call, and a face you recognize at graduation. As First Year Experience Coordinator/Recruiter, you'll own both sides of that journey: bringing students through the door and making sure they find their footing once they arrive.

Your Scope and Responsibilities

  • Drive recruitment activity across the Rangely region — visiting high schools, attending community events, and building lasting relationships with prospective students and their families
  • Design and coordinate new student orientation and first year programming that builds confidence, community, and a clear path forward
  • Monitor early-alert signals and proactively connect at-risk first year students with the right support services
  • Collaborate with faculty, advising, and Student Affairs colleagues to create a cohesive transition experience from inquiry through to second semester

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Associates degree, or experience in education, counseling, or a closely related field
  • Providing outstanding customer service and an interest in helping students reach their potential especially in recruitment, first year programs, or college transition support
  • A genuine interest in helping prospective students navigate college for the first time
  • Strong communication skills across in-person, digital, and community settings — including confidence presenting to groups
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across a full recruitment and academic calendar without dropping the ball on either
  • Understanding of the unique needs of students served by rural community colleges in Colorado

Why CNCC Rangely

CNCC Rangely is one of Colorado's smaller campuses, and that's exactly the point. Staff here carry real responsibility, see the direct results of their work, and are known contributors — not headcount. The Student Affairs team is collaborative and student-obsessed in the best possible way. Beyond purpose, the role comes with benefits including health coverage, generous leave, and PERA retirement. And Rangely itself — canyon country, outdoor recreation, and genuine small-town community — is the kind of place people move to deliberately.
