Who We Are:

Trinidad State College is designated as Hispanic Serving Institute (HSI), and is a state-supported, two-year institution of higher education. The College was established by an act of the State Legislature in 1925 and is the oldest public two-year college in the State of Colorado. The College’s Service Area includes eight rural counties characterized by low population density and small communities. One campus is located in Trinidad and is a residential campus while the other, located in Alamosa, is a commuter campus. Both campuses serve distinct populations. As a comprehensive Community College, Trinidad State College not only offers ongoing transfer Associate of Arts Degree and Associate of Applied Science (vocational) Degree programs but also has developed and implemented numerous successful short-term vocational certificate programs, and totally inclusive adult education and developmental programs.

 

Job Summary:

Trinidad State College is seeking enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals to fill multiple work study positions for the 26-27 school year.
Positions vary depending on the department and the needs of the immediate supervisors.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Be punctual and dependable
• Provide supervisor with a current class schedule
• Call supervisor when you are not able to be at work for your scheduled shift
• No working during scheduled classes / class periods
• Have a positive work attitude and be aware of your area of responsibility
• Maintain a professional appearance
• Contribute to the position
• Work confidentially (respect the privacy of other student's records)
• No using Cell phone and/or Ear buds during working hours (unless specifically instructed by supervisor that it is acceptable)
• It will be your responsibility to maintain and submit your timesheet via your student portal for approval by each bi-weekly deadline
• Abide by all established institutional and office policies and procedures
• Abide by dictated dress code (where applicable)

Competencies/KSAs:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Registered for a minimum of 6 credit hours for current semester
• Have a completed FAFSA submitted for current semester
• Be approved for position through the Financial Aid department
• Must be agreeable to working with a diverse population and with all ranges of student abilities

Selection Process:

• Successful candidate must submit to and successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment background check as a condition of hire.

Temporary Hourly: Engineering Lab Assistant - Science, Engineering, and Math Division

The Science, Engineering, and Math Division serves a wide-ranging student population, from students currently in high school to adult learners returning to education after many years. Our division strives to assist all students and visitors who call or come into our office. The Engineering Lab Assistant helps PPSC engineering instructors prepare for, conduct, and clean up after engineering design labs. A workload of up to 20 hours per week is anticipated. This work will take place at both the Centennial and Rampart campuses. Because this work directly supports scheduled engineering labs, the student must be on-campus, in the lab classroom prior to, during and immediately following the lab. Other support activities will be necessary and can be performed at times convenient to the Lab Assistant and the faculty.  Ability to work evenings and travel to multiple campuses to support student and department needs. This position is temporary part-time, not to exceed 28 hours per week.
