Who We Are:

Job Summary:
As the Substitute Librarian, you provide both reference and circulation services to the Front Range Community College (FRCC) community and the patrons from the Westminster Public Library – WPL (located directly below the FRCC Library). When the full-time FRCC librarians are unavailable, you will serve as the person in-charge and may supervise work study students when needed. In addition, some knowledge of conversational Spanish is highly desirable for this position.
Substitutes will usually work a 4-hour shift and are mainly needed on weekends from 1-5pm. However, there will be times that a substitute will be needed for a longer shift or during the week when the full-time FRCC Librarians are not available.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Give excellent customer service to both the FRCC and WPL communities.
- Assist with daily library operations with the FRCC Library.
- Handle reference and circulation transactions.
- Manage the floor when no full-time FRCC Librarian is present.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science.
OR
- Ability to earn Master's degree in Library and Information Science within 6 months of hire.
AND
- Reference and circulation experience in either a public or academic library setting.
Selection Process:
The selection process for this position will be conducted through a competitive, merit-based evaluation of all qualified applicants. Preliminary screening will be based on the completed application package submitted by the candidate.
