EMPLOYMENT SPECIFICS: Full-Time (Exempt Administration Appointment, 260 days), 1.0FTE
PURPOSE/SUMMARY OF JOB:
The Academic Librarian works collaboratively with the Director of Learning Resources in the delivery, coordination, and development of all library services, programs, and resources serving all MCC locations, the Colorado Community College System (CCCS), and other stakeholders. This includes providing reference and research assistance; developing and maintaining instructional materials; teaching information literacy and research skills; leading Open Educational Resource (OER) initiatives, including OER grant writing and management, outreach, education, data collection, and reporting; providing circulation and equipment checkout services; maintaining library website and Springshare (Libapps) content; supporting collection development, maintenance, cataloging, and ILS management; and assisting with the organization, preservation, management, and accessibility of the college’s archival materials. This position also contributes to strategic planning, data collection and analysis, policy and procedure development, assessment of library services and technologies, and advocacy for and promotion of library services across campus and within the broader community. Maintains library operations in the Director’s absence.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
- Experience providing reference assistance.
- Knowledge of information literacy best practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups to develop positive working relationships.
- Strong customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn and use additional software and library technologies.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends, and to accommodate occasional extended or irregular hours associated with special projects and deadlines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supporting Open Educational Resources (OER) initiatives, including outreach, education, data collection, reporting, grant-funded projects, or grant administration.
- Experience working in an academic library or higher education setting.
- Experience developing and delivering information literacy instruction.
- Experience assisting with archival collections or historical materials.
- Knowledge of copyright, fair use, Open Educational Resources (OER), and Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) initiatives.
- Experience using Springshare software (Libguides, Libchat, and other Libapps)
- Experience coordinating library programs, services, or projects.
Anticipated Start Date: November 2026
Salary and Benefits: $56,960-$78,320, based on education, skills and experience. Benefits include health, life, dental and vision insurance, LTD & benefit package including tuition reimbursement in accordance with Colorado Community College and Occupational Education System policies. No relocation assistance is provided.
